FREE soccer clinics for schools in Term 1

It’s been a huge start to 2019 Small Sided FA. At the start of the year we announced not 1, not 2, not even 3 but 4 NEW locations! With these announcements we immediately connected with local primary schools to start spreading the word.

After establishing SSFA South East in Dandenong at Soccer5s Dandenong, we’ve located 4 new venues in Knox (SSFA East) , Frankston (SSFA South), Glen Eira (SSFA Inner East) and Darebin/Baynule (SSFA North).

During Term 1 this year, we re-invested profits from Year 1 season back into the Small Sided FA expansion across Melbourne to deliver FREE soccer clinics to primary schools in each new council area.

The FREE soccer clinics included delivery of;

  • Qualified Coach

  • Structured session & theme

  • Specialist soccer equipment

  • Awards - GK of the Day, Penalty Shootout Champion & MVP

  • Small sided games

  • and of course LOTS & LOTS OF FUN!

Typically, Small Sided FA would send a qualified coach into a primary school that has is local and has a synergy with one of our community clubs at the location. For example - Wooranna Park PS in Dandenong has a orange and black uniform which matches the Athletico Wolves FC within our competition. The coach would then deliver a session based around the Wolves for players to come and join the team!

That connection with the school and club is an integral part of creating a community at the locations with players and parents.

The coach would deliver anything from 2-5 clinics a day, delivering the PE teachers classes, who normally may not be a specialist at soccer. This offers a fantastic experience to the students which may not have experienced soccer before at school.

After 9 weeks at Primary Schools in Term 1 2019, we are delighted to announce we have delivered over 400 coaching sessions which has led to more than 10,000 children across 5 council areas receiving 1x FREE soccer coaching clinic….yes 10,000 primary school children!

All of these students were located across 32 primary schools and were then offered another FREE soccer experience at one of our SSFA venues during where they could participate in a FREE Come & Try clinic on 2 dates in Term 1. Again we had a fantastic turn out with over 100 children attending across the 5 locations.

We are really proud to have deliver the Term 1 Free Soccer Clinic campaign which we hope makes an impact for soccer players to take up joining a team immediately or in future in the local community or even to simply play at home as their preferred play time.
