Small Sided FA announce President
With lots happening over the last 2 weeks, launching Small Sided FA for its inaugural year for 2018, It's now with great pleasure that Small Sided Football Association announces Jack Gillibrand as President of the association.
Jack brings a wealth of experience from a 15 year football background. Currently hosting major roles in sports management, administration and as a sports operations specialist, Jack's knowledge and experience for leading Small Sided FA will be instrumental.
Whilst playing from age 4 to 21, representing local 1st grade teams and University level in the UK, Jack established himself as a football coach within the North West England community as well as oversees in New York and Los Angeles, working his way through the English FA Coaching Badges upto UEFA B Licence standard.
In 2011-2013 he was appointed as Head of Academy Recruitment for ex English Premier League team Blackpool FC where he was the key figure head for finding local talent for age groups 5-16 years old for the academy, working alongside the likes of EPL Giants Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool to bring Blackpool front and centre of the local academy system in North-West England.
Before moving to Australia, Jack took a role of 5-a-side Manager at a national leading provider, utilising a the centre for small sided football competitions and tournaments for Juniors and Seniors, as well as creating a successful coaching company delivering academy level coaching, 1on1, holiday clinics and pathways from grassroots to elite football.
Over the last 5 years Jack has found his home in Australia, with the last 3 years in Melbourne managing the $4million Soccer5s Dandenong centre, whilst establishing a huge small sided football community following in the South East.
Newly appointed Small Sided FA President Jack Gillibrand stated;
"I'm thrilled to be here at the start of what will be an incredible journey for Small Sided FA. The appetite to play football in not only the South East suburbs of Melbourne, but nationwide in Australia is huge and Small Sided FA has been created to cater for that.
Small Sided FA existing initially in Dandenong and the surrounding suburbs is going to be a major benefit for the community. There are lots of barrier to entry when parents are trying to keep their child active in the year round across all sports, whether that be high costs, transport, local teams/clubs have no space or the child is nervous about playing in clubs due to their development stage.
We're working towards partnering with all local community clubs within the football community as well as schools to combat these barriers and let them know that the 6 founding member clubs of SSFA exist for them!
It's very exciting as SSFA will get more children playing, more children active and more children falling in love with this beautiful game just as I and many others have. I can't wait to get started."
Small Sided FA wish Jack and the committee all the best in the role and look forward to seeing the Associations and its member clubs grow and flourish in years to come.
Small Sided FA is now seeking expressions of interest across ages U4 - U16 for 2018 as we look to create teams within the 6 clubs to train and compete in a the first inaugural 2018 Season.
